This weekend project has saved us a lot of hassle for subsequent projects by making it easier to organize. We built a simple slat wall for various attachments out of 1×4 and 2×4.
The first step was to use our trusty stud finder in order to know where to put up the 2×4 vertical members:
Then we put up the 1×4 horizontal members spaced 2″ apart to make sure we left ourselves enough room for the various attachments.
We made a few of the attachments out of scrap wood using the band saw:
The options are almost endless for what can be added and it is such a simple system. It only took us a couple hours and we still have space to add attachments.
